1. your favourite song?

Ok, this is like asking me to choose a favorite kind of dog, because I love music. I love music a lot, and I cannot possibly choose, because I have different favorite songs for different moods. I can tell you that I listen to Adele McAllister’s The Ent and the Entwife, Loreena McKennitt’s Lady of Shalott, Damh the Bard’s The Hills They Are Hollow, and John Denver’s Windsong a lot, though.

2. what’ your most hated food? 

Hmm. I don’t generally hate foods, but sauerkraut and asparagus are definitely top of the short list. They’re about equally gross. That’s under “foods I have eaten.” I can think of one that’s really disgusting that I would never ever try ever, but I’ve sworn not to tell Penflicks about that one!

3. what do you think when you look at the sky at night?

Hmm. I generally try to find Orion in the night sky during the winter – he and his dog are the most obvious constellation from where I am. I sometimes find myself watching the sky for bats, and listening to the owls hoot nearby. As to what I’m thinking – I suppose I’m generally thinking “is that an airplane going overhead? where must they be traveling and why am I still sitting here?” 

4. do you have a pet?

I have two adorable kitties – Watson and Puttles (real name is Patches but no one calls her that). 

5. how much time do you spend scrolling down your dashboard on Tumblr?

A Lot. Most of the day, if I’m honest – I have a desk job and there’s a lot of down time.

6. do you have a crush right now?

Nope. Wouldn’t know what to do with one if I did.

7. grand parents or uncles/aunts which do you prefer?

So, here’s the part where you find out that I don’t actually have much by way of family and what I do have I’m not fond of. I have an aunt and uncle on the other end of the country whom I’ve never met or spoken with and never will. I have an aunt on this end of the country and let’s just say it’s complicated, and all four grandparents have been gone for a few years now, including the grandfather I never met and the grandmother I wouldn’t have recognized if I’d fallen over, so…. *shrug* I guess the short answer is neither?

8. + 9. do you have an “allow to fuck if we ever meet” list? who’s in it?

Nope. I’m ace as ace can be, so it’s not really a consideration.

10. what makes you laugh?

Um… lots of things, really. Pets being adorable or just goofy. Well-timed, on-point sarcasm. My friends being silly or cute. Weird freudian slips and/or people trying to say one thing and ending up saying something completely different that’s not even a phrase/word (when those people don’t have a disability that prevents them from saying the right thing). idk, I laugh a lot when I’m comfortable in a situation.

11. what are you most proud of?

That I spent years being treated like utter shit by a variety of people and came out the other end still able to laugh and cry and above all else to be kind. I know I’m a long way from perfect, but I like to think that I’ve done what I can with the circumstances I was given and come out the other end still a decent person.

one of the many things about james flint is his rage is sacred, and by that i mean its etymology is love and its natural state is righteousness. i don’t think there’s a dark thing in himself he’s fighting to drown and that resurfaces of him despite himself, that is one of the narratives we’re sold but it clearly bears the mark of homophobia, on the contrary i think light is the permanent resident, and maybe it’s all his or maybe part of it is something thomas left or maybe thomas just mapped it and gave it shape and a name. as much as he is desperate not to be or be seen as a villain, i think he also deliberately tried to to claw at the light and make himself into that thing out of the fragments, a dark thing but an effective thing, a faceless thing but a useful thing, but despite all the ways he bends himself to have a chance against the system that broke him down, in the end like bodies are returned by the sea to shore james flint is returned by love, returned always to trying to do something good, good for himself and his love and in the name of himself because there’s no shame in that when shame was used to cut you, but also, crucially, good beyond himself and past himself
