This, this is what you tell any Trump voters who insist that they’re worried about being judged for the choice they made to elect this man.
You will be judged. The outcome is not upsetting people based on some philosophical difference. It’s upsetting people because it will have a death toll. This is the disconnect, the divide, that the “well-intentioned Trump voter” fundamentally does not seem to grasp.
Don’t ask people to be pleasant towards you after what you’ve condemned millions of Americans to suffer for the next four years. If the worst that has happened to you is being called a bigot, a racist, a misogynist, understand that you have nothing on the rest of your fellow American minorities who experience more verbal and physical backlash every day of their lives for existing, and will now experience even more. They don’t owe you a handshake, a smile, a “let’s agree to disagree”. They don’t owe you anything.
