Loreena McKennitt, hell yeah! First person I’ve “met” who’s ever heard of her.
I grew up listening to her music back when The Mummer’s Dance hit almost the top of the charts in the late nineties. I got through large portions of my senior year of college by just turning up her Mediterranean Odyssey cd and writing about the snow trade in the medieval era

I’ve never heard of Albannach, but going strictly by their name, it sounds up my alley. How would you describe their music?
I’d call their music pretty much straight up pipes and drums, with an additional note that they’ve figured out how to do a thing with the bagpipes that if I heard coming toward ME over a battlefield I’m pretty sure I’d be out of there real fast – it sounds about like a banshee wail
