BREAKING: South Dakota becomes the first state to pass an anti-transgender school bathroom bill

gaywrites:

The South Dakota State Senate just voted 15-20 to ban trans students from using the school bathrooms that match their gender identity.

If

Gov. Dennis Daugaard

signs the bill, South Dakota will become the first state explicitly banning trans students from using the right restrooms, even though the federal government has clearly stated that this is discrimination.

House Bill 1008 states that “every restroom, locker room, and shower room located in a public elementary or secondary school that is designated for student use and is accessible by multiple students at the same time shall be designated for and used only by students of the same biological sex.”

The bill defines “biological sex” as “the physical condition of being male or female as determined by a person’s chromosomes and anatomy as identified at birth.”

This is unjust, unconstitutional, unenforceable. Let’s do something about it.

Call the governor at

605-773-3212. Tweet at the governor. Tell him not to sign this. Be loud. We cannot let this happen. South Dakota, we’re here for you, we’re fighting with you, and we’re not gonna let this happen.
