Listen I had a thought

I think it’s less a tendency to “woobify Flint” more than he deserves given all the horrible things he’s done and more the fact that queer people and other marginalized people honestly don’t get a lot of power fantasies or characters like them who are fighting the same kinds of oppression they experience and it’s just really fucking satisfying to see a badass queer character fighting the establishment and getting a happy ending. And Flint is incredibly flawed, and does a lot of bad things for the wrong reasons, but listen, you know that post “you killed all the nice guys and now there’s just us, the assholes”? Yeah, this show and the love of Flint so many of us feel is based in that, I think. He’s a gay man who is so done being nice to his oppressors and we deeply identify with that, in such a way that we often overlook or justify the bad things we’ve done, and honestly, if the straights get to ~redeem~ assholes like Loki and Hannibal after they commit mass murder we too get to put our flawed murdering very gay ginger inferno on a pedestal
