you’re one of those Fall Twilights that come slow and gently. that twilight that leaves you wondering what time is it, and when you check, it’s barely 7pm. you feel safe then, the sun won’t bother you anymore and there’s still plenty of time to keep doing things.

awwwwwwwwwwwww *hugs* thank you! That’s the best kind of twilight! I love the feeling that comes with it, too – like the sun’s gone down, and the night’s set in, and there’s just darkness enough to allow for things to exist outside what can be there during the day!

same, same. i always stand up and then that’s why i have the rep of an arse but honestly, you have to be the wall to their bullets—otherwise is a never ending case of oppression.

*hugs* exactly. It’s part of why I sympathize wholeheartedly with Flint – because at some point, someone has to say Enough and do something or it’s just never going to end.

HOLY SHIT! I admire this because.. giving some sense to why Alfred is an arse it’s a good way to also explain why wouldn’t he support his son on politics—beyond the gay thing—I CAN’T WAIT TO READ THIS

It also explains why Thomas’ family wouldn’t oppose Alfred about him being institutionalized – if there was a question as to who was the rightful heir to the dukedom, they’d be all too happy to see Thomas taken out of the running, especially if he were Alfred’s only legitimate male heir. This is all mostly backstory, but I’m hoping I can work some of it into the last chapter of CotD – maybe just a quick exchange between Archibald and Thomas. This thing keeps growing on me!

i think you transfer that satisfaction through the pace of your writing. it feels so good to read it, a nice home-like feel in the chest 🙂

Thank you! That’s exactly what I was going for – that “it’s over, everyone’s safe, you can breathe again now” feeling, both for us and for the characters.

oh my god i admire you! i actually like that you don’t take her BS. She is a stupid bully and I am glad not everyone lets bullies be!

*hugs* thank you. I spent too many years in high school dealing with bullying and I’m not going back to being that traumatized kid that learned to hide and be quiet and never, ever trust anyone. I’ve worked too hard to get past it, and I’ll be damned if I’m letting it happen again. I’d like to smack whoever said “ignore the bullies and they’ll stop” because yeah, no, that doesn’t work, ever.
