Okay I love this scene and I want to wax lyrical about it for a mo.

Because it’s so gentle.

So often in media, when (on those rare occasions) you do see two men kiss, it can be rough, or aggressive, or fiercely passionate. Which is fine, depending on the circumstances (although sometimes it is jarring if the intensity of the kiss is disproportionate to the scene.)

But this is so soft and warm and lovely.

And they easily could have played it different. We’ve seen the badass that James can be, the strength and violence he has in him. They so easily could have turned this into something fierce, something possessive and manly.

But it’s not. It’s gentle and slow and full of joy and relief. And that’s such a wonderful thing to see in a series that is so often full of pain and blood and violence.

I just love this scene a lot okay?

Associating the entire religion of Islam with terrorism or oppression is narrow-minded and wrong. For centuries, Muslims around the world have been responsible for scientific discoveries, works of art, and major technological advancements. There is a great deal of diversity in the way Islam is practiced by the 1.6 billion Muslims around the world, it is a vastly complex and diverse religion. Read more

My biggest worry for black sails isn’t the actual plot, it’s that no ending will be good enough to satisfy the whole fandom

I really don’t want to see either loads of people upset by it, or arguments over whether it was good enough, because I don’t want to finish the show with all that anger/disappointment/disagreements

This is one of the best shows I’ve seen and the fandom has been the most peaceful one I’ve ever been in, I hope it ends on a high note

Can we talk about how sweet and gentle Thomas Hamilton is though…

Like the way he waited for James to lean in to him before he kissed him.

Or how he waited for James to turn and look at him, to meet his gaze before bumping their foreheads together.

Or how he cut himself off from reading to smile when he realises James was looking at him.

Or how even after his father was rude and insulted him and his friends he was the one who broke the silence first and was amused that James had told his father to leave his own house.

Or how apparently he forgave Peter for his betrayal.

Thomas Hamilton is a literal angel and it’s unfair that he had to suffer for the sake of plot.
