imagine james trying to pretend to be a scary pirate captain but also being just So Much In Love with his husband and also still being So Proud of him for being such a great governor

once or twice james has to break character and be like ‘love, you can’t call a pirate pretty’

thomas’ counter-argument is ‘but what if he is pretty?’

afterwards thomas says something like ‘what if we had met like this? you probably wouldn’t love me then’ and james is like ‘ashjkldf; no i would always love you. any version of me would love you’
