fandom’s habit of looking at any man who expresses any level of affection towards another man whatsoever, even if they are s i b l i n g s, and being like “oh yes they must be fucking” is bizarre and horrible to observe and see with the eyes

like, on one hand, we’re all dying for gay representation and i get it. on another hand, two real life actual human men making eye contact or two fictional brothers smiling at each other should not automatically lead to “ah yes they’re gay and in a secret sexual relationship” like!!! holy shit!!! let men be platonically  affectionate with each other jesus christ come on

Agreed.

This is a tough line to walk because gay representation is SO sparse and that 100% needs to be fixed, but perpetuating harmful stereotypes wherein someone MUST be gay because they are affectionate is not the way to do it.

Fun fact: not letting men be platonic and show affection is in fact another expression of toxic masculinity! Everyone needs affection! Affection is not inherently feminine or gay! People are allowed to love each other unconditionally in a non-erotic way!

remember the scene where Silver was a mess about Madi and Flint goes to him to console him that he’ll help him find his way out

during that point in time Silver knew Thomas was alive

he knew

and here Flint is, being the good friend he promised he’d be, yet Silver didn’t do the same for him. to perhaps give back by telling him about Thomas? or to at least GIVE him the choice to pick his war or Thomas instead of using it as a final threat of “either you let me take you to Thomas or i’ll shoot you”

is he really such a true friend as he claims he is?

idk why don’t you tell me
