Thomas starts to silently cry when James tells him about his war against England, not because he thinks James in the wrong but because James suffered for so long and all the while it was because he loved Thomas so damn much. A war against an empire was fought in Thomas Hamilton’s memory, while he felt as though there was nothing left from his old life and that the people in it had forgotten him. After more than ten years, believed to be dead, he is still so loved.

HE WAS

HE WAS LOVED

part of why i get so upset by the shame plantation is that speech at the beginning – ‘what’s to be done with the unwanted ones?’ because!! thomas was not unwanted!!
