Hey folks. I touched on this in an earlier text post, but my cat is feeling really not-great. He continues coughing and hacking, and has been really lethargic and distant lately. We’re working on getting him taken care of, but some of the financial costs are beyond us right now.

If you can help out, even just $1, it would mean the world to me. My cats are pretty much one of the few reasons I stay functional at all lately, and I’ve been beside myself worrying over what’s happening to him– made worse that I’m not able to earn an income due to being disabled.

So I’m in a place where things are going wrong, very quickly, and what little recourse I have has been falling apart at the seams. I’ve tried applying for medicaid only to be told I make too little to qualify for medicaid. I’ve tried seeking representation, only to be told “we can’t help you” purely on the basis that I do not have medical history or paperwork to throw into the ring. I have been unable to afford seeing a doctor due to living in poverty, which is a state I am in because I am unable to work.

It’s a cycle that keeps perpetuating itself, and I’ve asked for help before, and folks have been continually generous. I wanted to avoid asking for help again, but I’m hitting an obstacle I can’t overcome; seeing a doctor for medical recommendation. I can’t afford the fee to see one just now.

I’ll copy-paste my entry on the youcaring page:

“I’m in dire need of being able to make a visit to a doctor, both for
health reasons and for help in determination in my case for disability.
As it is, I’m unable to raise the money for a doctor’s visit and
possible labs conventionally, as I am unemployed due to disability and
neither friends nor family have the additional income to spare for this.

As
such, I am turning to this platform to raise enough to cover the cost
of my doctor’s visit and potential lab fees related to the visit.

To
explain my reasons for seeking disability aid, I am currently unable to
work due to several conflicting conditions that currently disable me. I
suffer from autonomic diabetic neuropathy, or nerve damage that affects
my internal organs, including my heart and lungs. As it is, this
renders me ill frequently and easily, especially with my immune system
compromised by diabetes.

I also suffer from clinical depression,
an anxiety disorder so strong it manifests in a phobia of using the
phone or driving a vehicle, as well as social anxiety, mobility problems
in conjunction with some pain, and cognitive disability in dyscalculia.

So, as you can see, I have a host of reasons to get on
disability payments. As it is, I have been unable to seek medical
treatment, having lived well below poverty levels for several years, and
without medical confirmation, I am without recourse for my disability
determination hearing.

Hence this fundraising attempt. Please, if
you can help, you would make the difference between getting on the path
for both treatment and stability, and being left to suffer.

Contact me in advance to check if I’m familiar with the fandom so that I can do a commission justice!), and that I do have a game that is available for free, but you can also choose an amount to pay for it (If you want to get something in exchange for your money but still help me out).
