Have you ever passed under a streetlight at night, only to notice it suddenly flicker off? While this occurrence in itself is not abnormal (street lights often overheat and turn off, only to turn on again once they’ve cooled), there are people who experience this more often than can be considered coincidental. These people are referred to as SLIders, and they are believed to possess certain psychic abilities that interfere with electricity. The term “Street Light Interference Phenomeneon” was coined by author Hilary Evans in 1993.
Because the existence and knowledge of SLI is very recent, there have been little to no tests conducted and the majority of supporting evidence is anecdotal. Theoretical physicist Wolfgang Pauli was known to known to break electrical equipment without even touching anything. This happened to regularly that many of Pauli’s scientist friends refused to allow him in their labs. His condition was so notorious that it was given a name, The Pauli Effect (x). Because of the recent surge in awareness of SLI, some believe that Pauli was a SLIder.
