This Saturday, 5-7pm EST we focus our tweetathon on @netflix! Let’s tweet #SaveTheExorcist and let the network know we want our show back for season 3!
SATURDAY, JUNE 2: #SaveTheExorcist TWITTER/SOCIAL CAMPAIGN WEEK 3: NETFLIX
WEEK 3: NETFLIX!
Hi, everyone!
We’re changing things up a bit this week! Please see the lovely @cutiesonthehorizon ‘s #SaveTheExorcist 10 Commandments:
Feel free to reference this throughout each campaign week!
This week, we are focusing on NETFLIX!
Instead of Wednesday, we will be doing a concentrated Tweetathon and Social Campaign on Saturday, June 2, from 5pm to 7pm EST. For those two hours, you can:
Tweet @Netflix using UP TO TWO HASHTAGS ONLY: #SaveTheExorcist and #NetflixSaveTheExorcist. Talk about why it would be a good idea for Netflix to pick up the show. You might mention that it’s just another of Alfonso’s incredible shows (the other being Sense8, which was of course picked up for a finale due to the hard work of its fans).
This might also be a great opportunity to briefly tweet fans of Sense8 and implore them to check out the show, or support us as fellow fans of Alfonso!
You can also tweet @reedhastings, the CEO of Netflix, in these two hours.
If you can’t tweet live, schedule all your tweets on apps like Tweetdeck, Hootsuite, Runlater, etc between 5pm and 7pm EST.
Email Netflix Support or Reed Hastings directly, or chat online with Netflix Support
Play the Exorcist Twitter question game, using the hashtags and tagging Netflix and/or Reed Hastings.
Share your art about The Exorcist (essays, blog posts, drawings, etc), tagging and hashtagging the same!
Remember—you can do all this throughout the week too! But we want a concentrated use of hashtags and getting Netflix’s attention between the hours of 5pm and 7pm so we can make the most impact!
Thank you so much for continuing to be a part of the Congregation and working hard for our show! The creators have seen our hard work, and I know it’s appreciated!
#SaveTheExorcist 5/23: AMAZON PRIME TWEETATHON & SOCIAL CAMPAIGN
IT’S TIME FOR WEEK TWO: AMAZON!
This needs to be our BIGGEST initiative yet! Amazon Prime is our biggest shot at renewing The Exorcist—since Sean Crouch is working closely with the streaming service due to his involvement with Lore. It’s likely Sean has pitched the show to Prime or will soon, so it’s up to us to show that there’s real buy-in for it!
Rules are the same as last time. Between 5pm and 7pm on Wednesday, May 23rd, you can do any—or all—of the following:
Tweet @PrimeVideo (using TWO HASHTAGS ONLY: #SaveTheExorcist and #PrimeSaveTheExorcist. If you use more than that, your Tweet will be marked as spam). Make sure you TAG their Twitter account in each Tweet.
Write on Prime’s Facebook wall using the same hashtags.
Contact Amazon Prime via email/customer service.
Participate in The Exorcist Twitter game, pioneered by @cutiesonthehorizon. It’s a series of questions about the show where you can talk about your favorite aspects of it all while tagging Prime and using hashtags.
In your messages, focus on the following:
The Exorcist has a large horror fan base, so those who watch Lore would love the show and vice versa—bringing on high-quality horror is good for their brand
Speak to the show’s diversity, as you did with Hulu, illustrating that taking on The Exorcist would be great to show a commitment to diversity
#SaveTheExorcist 5/16: HULU TWEETATHON & SOCIAL CAMPAIGN
Thanks to all who have promoted this initiative so far. Can’t wait to work on this with you all! As you know, Week 1 of our #SaveTheExorcist social campaign is
HULU!
On Wednesday, May 16th, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm EST, we will be reaching out to Hulu to #SaveTheExorcist. The streaming service is certainly in the position to do so, as they own the streaming rights to the first two seasons. We want to show them that taking on this show creatively would be a huge benefit for them.
So, in that two-hour timeframe, you can do any (or all) of the following:
Tweet Hulu
Write on Hulu’s Facebook wall
Contact Hulu’s customer service by online chat or phone
Stream an episode or two of the show on Hulu if you have an account
You can also do this all week long, but we want a concentrated time period for everyone to be interacting with Hulu in these two hours on Wednesday.
In your Tweets and Facebook posts, please use the hashtag #HuluSaveTheExorcist for this week. You can share articles, fan art, personal anecdotes—anything that you believe illustrates makes this show great. In terms of subject matter, you might talk about how Fox didn’t promote the show effectively, and that we believe Hulu can do that. Illustrate that there’s a huge international audience for the show, and if you are an international fan, say where you’re from!
