Hey all – just a quick PSA, I’m changing my Silver critical tag to JS critical since the other keeps appearing in the regular character tag (spectacular job there, Tumblr. Really stellar.) Hopefully that will help keep peace in the fandom.

College students on Tumblr, I need you to understand something.

The week after you finish exams might seem like a great time to get stuff done now that you’re done with finals. It might sound like a wonderful idea to call the registrar’s office or any other office on campus to get business cleared up, ask a question, etc.

It’s not, and if you do this you are landing yourself on someone’s shit list, because the week after you finish classes is a week that college offices spend preparing for graduation ceremonies. It is the most hectic, godsawful week of the year, and no one has got time to do anything that doesn’t directly relate to a graduating senior/person who is having a degree conferred. Don’t call, don’t email, don’t show up, unless you fit that description because college support staff and administrators are overworked, stressed out, and chronically sleep-deprived until graduation is over. Wait until the week after unless your problem is literally life-changing and so unexpected there’s no way you could have prepared for it.

Hey New Followers!

Hi friends! There’ve been a whole bunch of you lately, so this seems like an opportune time for a PSA. Just so you know – I post and reblog a lot of Black Sails stuff on here and I am absolutely no flavor of Silver fan. I tag all posts that are Silver-negative with #John Silver critical, so if you don’t want to see those, I fully understand and that’s the tag to blacklist. I also post some personal things on here – I try to tag all work-related bitching with #Dear Coworkers or #Pagan Rants (my url used to be Dreamingpagan and I haven’t changed my tagging system for that). Fic gets tagged with #fic and the title of the work. Other than that, please let me know if you need anything tagged and I will happily make a serious attempt to remember to do so – I’m usually pretty good about it and I don’t want to trigger anyone or get anyone fired if you’re tumbling at work.

For the love of peanut butter, please, if your school asks you to fill out a form, fill out all of it and do so in handwriting that people can read without a magnifying glass. You might be young and able to read your eighth of an inch writing, but most of the people reading your forms will not be, or might have a sight impairment. Also, that info that you leave off because you don’t feel like putting it on there? We use that for filing. Don’t make life harder by being lazy, or in a hurry, or whatever.
