FlintHamilton Week, Day Two: Favorite Moment/Scene

Nothing says “I love you” like sacrificing your career and name for the honor of the man you’ve realized you have feelings for. This scene was so pivotal to the James/Thomas relationship because it was the first big glimpse into the effect Thomas has on James. Thomas originally asked for James to counter him, to talk him down from his plans and act as a logical sounding board— yet James just went and did the opposite of that. It’s so fitting, because I’ve never believed for a single second that the realization of their feelings for each other was a simple “oh I guess I’m in love with you what are we going to do now?” but rather a heightened sense of emotion that made them have no choice BUT to face their feelings for each other. It’s a very… romantic scene, despite the dinner being high tension and we got to witness Thomas’s temper; but talk about a classic period romance novel-esque love confession, and it’s between two men too, which just makes it all the more incredible.

#i would like to formally thank black sails for this scene and for my life #the one thing that really fucking gets me is james STANDING UP #like he is READY TO THROW DOWN #if alfred refused to leave james was fucking. gonna go off #it’s fucking career suicide i can’t even believe it every time it happens i’m shook all over again #after all that he’s sacrificed to get where he is; all that he’s done to rise above his station in a society that refused to allow it #throws it all away in a single moment because this crazy powerful politician dared to insult the people he loves #NOW I THINK ITS TIME YOU LEFT. SIR #get out before i fucking throw you out #i’m??????????? (via @jamesvflint)
