No offense but if you ever did me wrong don’t hmu years later asking for forgiveness, I’ve moved on. If it’s still eating you alive you need to find it in you to forgive yourself

but if you really moved on, you should just be able to forgive them?

I’m about to sound batshit
But some times people ask for forgiveness outwardly because they’re afraid of looking inwardly, idk if this makes sense but in my mind you need to learn how to forgive yourself. You need to sit w yourself and come to terms w what you did. Me forgiving you isn’t gonna rid you of that burden or that guilt. Don’t come to me because you feel like shit hoping that I’ll reassure you that I’m alright and that I’ve moved on, you need to find a different way to heal cause I’m not giving you that

ALSO (this may not apply to op but its important to say) anybody who’s been wronged, abused, traumatized etc doesn’t HAVE to forgive OR forget. Moving on doesn’t mean you’ve forgiven the cause of your pain. It literally means you’ve moved on from it nothing more nothing less. And im gone stop anybody with the “everyone deserves forgiveness” right there. Because no. They don’t. Moving on doesn’t = forgiveness. Moving on consist of you doing what YOU need to do to get your life back in order. If that includes forgiveness great! If it doesn’t? Well, so be it. I’m tired of ppl putting the weight of forgiveness on the traumatized and abused. Thats too fucking bad if their abuser is never forgiven. Thats not their problem. NOT EVERYBODY DESERVES FORGIVENESS.
Thought I’d share with you @dandyavocado
