In this instance he really, absolutely was not and meanwhile everyone in the office was getting effectively verbally abused by the person calling. Gotta love male privilege that leads to male bosses not understanding that angry rich white guy + female admin assistant = terrified helpless admin assistant because male boss has never been in the position of not being listened to when he talks because he’s male.

Thanks, darling. If I could just get my boss to back me up instead of being willfully oblivious so that he doesn’t have to deal with things, that would go a long way. As it stands, we get verbally abused by angry parents/faculty and instead of being on it, he prefers to sit in his office and force us to field calls over and over again from the same pissed off people that we can’t do anything to placate, and then gets angry when we ask him to speak to the person on the third or fourth time they call within the space of half an hour.

Oh God manual registration sounds like a nightmare 😐

Luckily the actual registration is done on the computer but the prep work for it is all done manually – forms printed and signed and holds released and all that good rot. Hours of checking things over and then folding things and then three mornings in April where we all come in a good hour and a half before the normal time and don’t get paid for it.

yeah – boring but it pays the bills. Registration season is coming up and then there’s graduation and our office gets to handle both. IT was supposed to come up with a way to automate the former process but (of course) no such godsend has been forthcoming.

Unfortunately I’m relatively certain that the shitty day trend is going to continue for some time to come. It’s spring semester and that means it’s all hands on deck crunch time and people get more than a little frantic, faculty and staff included.

UNNNNGGGHHH sesame chicken is so goood! Jealous tbh. Life is treating me okay. I should have been more productive today but at least I fount my itouch that disappeared from my bed a few days ago (I use it to read fics at night so I don’t waste the battery on my phone). I had moved my bed the day I lost it in my search and couldn’t find it, but today I crawled under there with a flashlight and I found the bugger so I’m pleased

Yay for finding lost things! I wouldn’t normally indulge in that much Chinese at one go but today was awful and yesterday was no different and the day before that sucked pretty badly too, so I feel I’ve earned it. They’ll probably do something dumb like take my blood pressure tomorrow and I’ll regret doing this because it’ll be high but right now I honestly don’t care.

*hugs* thanks, hon! I’m really hoping things will quiet down but it’s not exactly likely. Best I can hope for is to go home and somehow carve out some writing/gaming time or maybe some research since I appear to have written myself a naval battle for my newest thing and I know next to nothing about naval strategy.
