I’ve been playing through my latest run with a Maedhros Inquisitor. It’s causing definite feels. Going through Redcliffe in the alternate universe was… yeah, I did not expect to be sitting there going oh gods this cannot be good for your mental health, poor baby. And then the thing with finding out about Corypheus. I’m going to have to fic it at some point, because I could definitely see Maedhros being like why is there always a big nasty with a dragon and why do I always wind up hanging by one hand?
ooh thats cool!! i started writing a fic despite having like 15 other project rn lol
It’s been fun! And some of the judgments in Skyhold have been a lot more fun keeping in mind the character’s background and experiences and trying to keep in mind what he’d be thinking.
Recently found my old notes from my first playthrough of Dragon Age: Origins. The funniest ones were these:
There is a bear on the battlefield
Blood mages are officially scary
Never, ever go somewhere new looking for a quick, easy mission
Shortly followed by:
The mission about the maleficarum in the deserted building is so not worth the hassle (I’m guessing I was having a bad time of it)
There is no such thing as too much frozen lightning, distillation agent, or elfroot
There is also no such thing as only one deepstalker
If you can hear it, it is probably around the next corner
There is no point in picking fights with dragons
Enemy mages can always do fireball
Dwarven tunnels are oppressively ugly (gee, can we say had enough of the Deep Roads?)
The Fade Beast is good for 75 sovereigns if you play it right. Or you can try to fight it. Your choice.
• why is construction never finished there
• also why the Templar banner
• do you know how insulting that is to a Mage inquisitor
•like
• I come back after killing a buncha red Templars and this greets me on my way to my bedroom
On a related note, why is the wall next to the war room never finished? Why are the fortifications on one side of the Keep never repaired? Why do I have giant gaping holes in my fortress that never get fixed by anyone? Why is there perpetual scaffolding in places? Did we hire the cheapest contractors in Thedas or what?
So, instead of doing Nanowrimo, I’ve been slowly chipping away at writing a super long fic and I might, in the meantime, have made an Inquisitor that’s based on Maedhros. Maybe.
look im a normal thedosian just like you i have two thumbs and enjoy dogs a normal amount like a normal person and not a Ferelden
how do we know YOU’RE not the dog lord
I can’t hear you over that mask you’re wearing.
i dont need to justify myself to an orlesian! you can’t intimidate me with your powdered wigs, big masks and lingering threat of occupation over my country
Retournez à vos femmes de chien et de la pluie, Ferelden.

By the Maker you’re Nevarran. My utmost sincerest apologies.
Tomorrow you’re going to wake up in the Dragon Age universe what is the first thing you do?
Fucking hide because you can’t go five feet in that universe without a walking corpse, darkspawn, bandit, crazed blood mage, renegade templar, or bear trying to kill you.
Fighting Corypheus in DA2: 30+ minutes, blood sweat and tears, die 10 times, scream incoherently
Fighting Corypheus in DAI: Takes no more than 2 minutes, can finish the fight with one hand while typing a dissertation, eating a pizza, and doing a State of the Union speech to the United States
