The great thing about fandom is that everyone has their own interpretation and understanding of events in the canon, especially one like Black Sails with so many layers and nuances. Disagreement is healthy and awesome, and life would be pretty boring and I know I’d never learn anything, if we all thought the same way about everything. So yes, we obviously disagree on this. But I think that’s fine.
