i really feel this should go without saying, but life tip: if you’re ever contemplating asking a girl out, don’t write “coffee sometime? :)” on a potato and mail it to her office without a name or return address
one week later and I still have absolutely who tried to ask me out at work via potato.
but in trying to hunt down the person, i asked a guy i thought was the most likely culprit, and he responded “that’s so creepy, I’d send you something way nicer” and that’s how I came to receive this box of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia marshmallows in the mail:
4 month update: the mystery has been solved and potato guy has gotten a job elsewhere so we no longer make awkward eye contact in the hallways. oh, and marshmallow guy and i have been dating for a few months and it’s going really well.
so thanks, potato guy. i’m sure this is not the outcome you envisioned when you sent me an anonymous potato asking me out to coffee, but i’m feeling pretty good about the whole thing.
