You know, as if this weren’t Not OK enough – I just realized why Thorin gives up when Dwalin is so close. It’s because Dwalin has just made a fuckton of noise trying to get to Thorin, and even if he does succeed and get to Thorin before Azog overpowers him, he’s going to get himself killed the minute he attacks Azog. Azog’s going to turn, he’s going to stab Dwalin, and Thorin’s not willing to let that happen. He literally withdraws the sword to keep Dwalin from getting killed too.

The planting acorn in Dale scene. So this scene kinda took place before the Ravenhill scene which is during the battlement but it couldn’t make it into the final cut so I’m gonna stick with PJ’s idea that Bilbo brought it home and planted it 🙂
