Jane Eyre 2006 is perhaps the greatest Jane Eyre adaption of all time. Now that we have that out of the way, let’s take a moment to really appreciate all that makes this series special in the only way I know how: sarcasm and a lot of references to Black Sails.
every semester, without fail, there’s some freshman who’s like “oh I never check my email lol” and i get worried for them, bc they’re going to miss some important email about a pop quiz or a test, or something and then fail. so if you’re a freshman reading this, CHECK YOUR EMAIL im not joking, professors will send you stuff via email that they’ll never mention in class. I’m in my email every hour on the hour before and after class. check that shit. put that app on ur phone, turn on notifs, go in and refresh every hour, check your spam, check your email
this has been a message from your concerned dad. check ur email, do well in school, i love you
and also that’s literally the only way that the registrar’s office, library, and other important offices on campus are allowed to communicate with you except via your campus mailbox. Seriously – there are actual federal regulations saying we can’t text you about important shit like forms you have to fill out to graduate or books we need back and are going to charge you for. Please check your email.
HMS Trincomalee is a frigate built in 1817 for the Royal Navy. Along with HMS Unicorn, USS Constellation and USS Constitution, it is the only remaining frigate from the era of sailing warships and the oldest still floating ship in Great Britain.
The Trincomalee is one of the frigates of the successful and numerous British Leda class, including HMS Shannon and HMS Unicorn. The class was built according to the lines of the French Hebé, which fell into British hands as a pinch in 1782. The Trincomelee was one of 15 of the original Leda class models. By 1832, another 25 ships with stern were launched. The latter variant includes Unicorn.
The Trincomalee is 150 feet long, 40 wide and was originally classified as a 46-cannon frigate. There were 28 18-pound cannons on the battery deck, 16 32-pound carronades on back and aft deck and 4 9-pound cannons (a total of 48, two more guns than according to the nominal classification).
