30, She/her. Used to be DreamingPagan a long time back. Multi-fandom, mostly Black Sails these days but with a lot of Tolkien and funny things interspersed. Complete language and history nerd - be warned. I write fic and occasionally I talk about ships.
ok – I respect that everyone loves the Mykonos quests and all the romance stuff, but let me tell you – I’m loving getting to play that the most ace way possible, too. My version of Alexios stomped into town, handled what’s-his-name the Cultist in charge by burning some supplies and stabbing people until the problem was fixed, and proceeded to get on his ship and leave, because he came to handle an issue, not make friends.
me, watching black sails s4 for the hundredth time: tell him Thomas is alive, you shit
some ppl who grew up with siblings didnt rly Grow Up With Siblings. like if you and your brother are 10 yrs apart u just dont get it… if you had siblings within 3yrs of your age you had the genuine experience of primitive undeveloped human brains pummeling the shit out of each other because none of us have developed frontal cortices and the laws of man don’t apply in the confines of this house
honestly I get better with my sibling that is 8 years younger than me than the one that is 1 year younger than me. it has to do with gender/machismo issues so yeah.
my brother’s 12 years older than me and yeah – it’s like having another adult in the house that you have to listen to when you’re growing up rather than having a sibling.
thinking about a new type of math problem that goes “the still-thankfully-nebulous concept of a Watch tv series” + “my love and loyalty for h. vetinari as a character and person” + “riz ahmed, a talented and underutilized british actor in his prime” + “the high likelihood that an old white man will play this character instead” = “extreme and unrealistic optimism with absolutely no basis”
I’m extremely here for this on several levels
Riz Ahmed is extremely talented and smart and would be great
Diversity is a Good Thing and we should have more of it
Casting a non-white actor as Vetinari would give a whole other dimension to the kind of attitudes he holds in books like Jingo and Snuff, as well as the attitudes other influential Ankh-Morpork citizens hold about him
Daud: Have I been a perfect parent? No. Was I ever planning on having children? No! Should I have picked up a book on parenting? PROBABLY! Where was I going with this? I had a point!
