I think your men couldn’t care less about Eleanor Guthrie. I think they find your feelings for her to be pathetic. I think you’re powerless to do anything about this. And for all these reasons, I think my feelings about Eleanor scare you to death.

bc I think the fandom has largely categorized Vane as someone who doesn't really have a lot of patience

but Vane prefers to create a distraction
Flint's all about the charge at the gates
he waits until he can justify Low's death
he waits until it won't look like he's doing it for Eleanor
it shows us a few things about his character
ok but let's talk about this moment here
that I don't think are usually picked up in fanon interpretations
