I’m sorry to hear people are not giving you feedback (I know exactly how much that sucks as a writer) but you are so very talented and if it makes any difference I am *dying* to read this fic but holding off until I finish the series ��

As to the feedback issue – I’m simultaneously taking comfort in knowing it’s not just me and saddened to see that so many other writers are facing the same problem. I’ve said it before, and so have all of us – there is a disconnect between the number of people who read fic and the number of people who leave comments. It’s why we treasure people like you who tell us what you liked and how the fic made you feel, so thank you so much for your comments and the support. 

Mid S4 and I already subjected my poor roommate to two anti John Silver rants – I am sure we will! (Or rather I am sure I will come ranting at you whether you want it or not lol)

With feedback my last (hockey) fic for example got a decent amount of kudos, which is great, but has a miserable 5% comments to kudos ratio. I can only imagine how much more annoying it is for multi-chapter work which takes so much world building and time and effort and where leaving kudos on every chapter isn’t even an option. The same goes for you too, by the way – I can’t express how much it meant to me to wade in to a fandom and write for a long dead rarepair and receive such lovely words in comments. ❤

#people also dont seem to realize that there is a way to *make* writers produce more of the content they like#and that is literally by telling us why and what they loved#like comments give me so much more inspiration to write#and ive written entire oneshots bc of or as a response to comments via @weareunited

^^^THAT! all of that, in the tags, right there. there is an incredibly simple way to get any fic author to write more and that is to comment, because I do not live on air! And yes – worldbuilding and storyboarding and spending hours thinking “ok, why is X character doing what they’re doing in my head?” only to hear nothing back is… incredibly disheartening. I have no words for exactly how discouraging that can be, except clearly I do have words, because words are my life. And I know I’m not exempt from this – I need to make better effort to comment on things myself, and it’s something I need to get back to doing this year. I’m glad my comments made you feel welcomed!

If you need to rant about Silver, I’m absolutely here for that. Come at me with your rant – I guarantee you I’ll be happy to respond!
