The PETA crowd would rather see indigenous populations starve than have one animal feed a entire village. They literally don’t care that people in remoter parts Alaska have literally been priced-gouged out of most available food, because they have no compassion for people.
The PETA crowd also come from a high position of privilege. They are 1st world people well off enough to eat an entire vegan lifestyle, and live in a part of the world where plant based food can be grown for most of the year. Vegan food is expensive and has very low shelf lives unless you pickle/can/jar them up.
Guaranteed that if they were stranded out in the Alaskan tundra in the middle of winter, they would starve to death.
They can condemn a kid for feeding his village, while the condemners live in warm houses and have full bellies and have a pantry full of food.

Yall. There’s nothing to eat in Alaska for 8-10 months of the year except animals and maybe some sedge grasses… if you can chisel through 1-3 feet of frozen lake to get to them. Like if yall want to prove you can be vegan in the arctic tundra a la Naked and Afraid, be my fucking guest.
