okay people seem to be awake and active now, so. who has any james/thomas headcanons that can make me cry?

you are pure evil. fortunately, so am I
*cracks knuckles*, let’s do this

-Flint is no stranger to nightmares and the resulting terror that can rip you from your sleep. He had been on the other side of it once or twice, but never had he imagined Thomas being inflicted. The worst part is that, even as he holds Thomas’ trembling form against his chest, he has no idea how to help him.

-When they eventually find a small town to settle down in, the first thing Flint does is go to market. Not for food, clothing, nor other such essentials. Instead, he brings back Thomas a book: A worn copy of La Galatea. Almost immediately Thomas’ voice grows hoarse and he begins to cry, overwhelmed. Not just because of the memory of that book and what it represents, not only because it had been so long since he’d been given a gift, but because for the past ten years he hasn’t had a single thing that was his. Personal belongings were not allowed on the plantation, and books were exceptionally difficult to find. It strikes him then that, finally, he is free. They are both free. To read, to love, to live again.

these are my sons. i love them so very much.

…..i want to hurt them some more tho.
