Do you ever think about all the dreams James must have had over those 10 years of being with Thomas and then waking up alone on a ship and realizing it was all just a dream and it could never happen again?
Because I do and I feel like I’ve been stabbed.
Yes and imagine the first morning after their reunion when he wakes up and in these few seconds before he’s completely awake, he sees Thomas lying next to him and thinks he’s still just dreaming, but then he notices Thomas watching him and he’s touching his face in wonder and only then realises that he is real, that it’s all real and he finally has him back, omg now I’m crying
I imagine that it takes a while for him to adjust. Maybe weeks. Whenever he’s alone for a moment he begins to think, “well this must be a dream, or I’m dead, this can’t be real.” And then Thomas comes back from another room, or from outside and puts a hand to his face and James just knows, it’s really, he has Thomas back for good, and can’t help but smile.
We’re all crying now.
