Agreed, Anon! Flint does so much and you’re right – there’s a tendency from the other characters to either take Flint’s skills for granted or damn them to hell until they need him and then suddenly it’s “oh, Flint will figure out how to handle this.” (i.e. the harbor defense of Nassau in Season 3) Mind you, the couple of times people try to take the reins and deal with things themselves instead of listening to Flint, things go… badly. Which is part of why we don’t have Vane around by the end of Season 4 (partly. Part of that was his choice and I won’t deny that to him). The moral of the story is that everyone should just listen to Flint instead of arguing with him all the time and then maybe try being a little nicer since he generally knows what he’s doing.
