The weirdest feeling in the world – and one of the best – is finding yourself reacting to a book or a movie or something, anything, and then looking back at yourself – at a teenage version of yourself who was angry and bitter and closed off and so very scared that she’d never, ever care about anyone again the way she should – and thinking, “I made it.”
