FYI there was a GOP bill (HR 1313) that quietly passed through the House Ways and Means Committee that would allow companies to force employees to undergo genetic testing, share those results with third parties. And if you decline this your monthly health insurance payments could be raised by 30 percent. The bill also stipulates that a company can do this whether it provides insurance or not.
I repeat:
It would be explicitly legal for companies to collect genetic information on you and your family members and share this information with third parties!
This is currently illegal thanks to the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act and this kind of legislation is regulated by the Americans With Disabilities Act however this bill seeks to go around the regulations and make this practice okay.
Here’s the full bill if you would like to read it.
Here’s some articles on the bill:

Oh and by the way, Rep. Virginia Foxx of North Carolina is the woman who proposed this bill.
Here’s her website. Here’s her Facebook. Here’s her Twitter.
And if you click HERE and look at the names under “Majority,” you will see all the people on the Ways and Means Committee who voted “yes” for this to move on. All those under “Minority” voted against this bill.
