i could hear gunshots from less than half a mile away in the middle of the night (i regularly do) and just go back to sleep like who cares??

You seriously need to sort this out America. The only time I’ve heard a gun in real life is at a military display.
I was watching a documentary thingit the other day and a woman was standing there when a bunch of fireworks started going off, and all I could think was wow my country is fucked up because if you hear that sound here you hit the deck because someone just started shooting. I’ve heard so many guns go off in my lifetime I don’t even blink anymore unless it’s super close.
