THERE’S NO POSSIBLE WAY for us to leave the un without being fucking destroyed economically and attacked by the various countries we’ve fucked over who now have no duty to treat us nicely (which would then include not just colonized countries, europe would be on us in an instant for making them spend money to relocate EVERYTHING hosted in the us). this is likely the worst idea of 2017 and it’s only goddamn january.
We’re also one of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council. The other four are France, the UK, Russia and China. The Security Council has such important duties as declaring war, controlling the UN Peacekeepers, recommending the entry of new UN Member states, and vetoing any UN Resolution. Like, if you’re afraid of foreign influence in our affairs, maybe you should hold on to that veto power?
