Rewatching Black Sails (totally research) and being reminded what a Naval genius James McGraw was. Seriously, the number of times he works out exactly what to do/how their enemies are thinking just by the lay of their sail, plus his way of reading the weather and the surroundings. Dude was a fricking genius when it came to the sea. He also thinks outside the box, turns the rules on their head and does the impossible, because he knows his ship and how much it can take.
