Dear Black Sails fanfiction writers,

Today is August 21st and Fanfiction Writers Appreciation Day.Writers-you guys are amazing. Brilliant,creative,generous and impossible because every day we get a new treat to enjoy. This fandom is tiny, but blessed and  jam-packed with talent and sometimes you read a story that makes you think or cry or lose words for number of reasons and you just sit there, trying to write a comment and you’re blown away by skills. Or discuss a fic for hours because you can’t believe that you just read something so incredible,you MUST talk to someone. I am sure that happened to all of us. It’s like a pirates book club sometimes! 🙂

In last year there was a beautiful explotion of fanfiction and so many wonderful writers showed up and fandom just began to flourish. I feel like a kid in a candy store every time I visit the AO3 Black Sails tag! I cannot even begin to count how many times I was overwhelmed by sheer brilliance or hotness of the fics and I will never stop being grateful for having so many wonderful stories to read. Angst,smut,crack,fixit,modern AUs and Betsy the cat fics…we have it all! Compared to bigger fandoms, the number of fanfiction in Black Sails AO3 tag is not high-but I have never been in a fandom that appreciates fics and writers like that and all of you deserve that. I am not naming names,we all know who you are.

LOL,this post is not me trying to get out of commenting on AO3 as I should-I will hopefully get to that later today. I just honestly wanted  to thank you.
