I’ve seen 1708 as the year Billy joins the Walrus crew in an old fic (as in, pre-s3) but now I remember that the Maria Aleyne was ‘Number of years back, before you crewed up with us, Flint had us hunting a merchant ship, the Maria Aleyne.’ (1×04). I’m terrible at timelines, so I got confused how long Billy has actually been with the crew up to s1 and when WAS the Alfred murder. Any ideas?
I don’t know if there’s an official date. Alfred’s murder – same deal. I’m not sure if I headcanon that it happened close on the heels of Thomas’ death or if it took a few years for him to leave his hidey-hole, knowing that James and Miranda would hunt him down. The fact that he was hiding says that Thomas’ death didn’t happen until several months at least after they arrived in Nassau – no earlier than June of 1706, when they took their first big prize and James started to have a reputation as Captain Flint.
