On a related note: “Is this drop high enough to kill me?”, I ask as I hurl myself off to find out.

(Did this in SWTOR earlier today, turns out jumping from the cliffside rooms in the tatooine stronghold is indeed a far enough drop to instagib.)

There is one spot on the stronghold where you CAN jump without instagibbing yourself. Go to the far right side ledge, over the railing and then jump. You’ll stop on one cliff, take a goodly chunk of health but still be able to bounce to the ground level without entirely dying. Jumping from the centre not only drops you to the ground level where, like, the menagerie etc is, it drops you ALL the way down to the hangar entrance. SPLAT.

I once jumped my character off the highest waterfall in Skyrim just because I had god mode on and I could. It turns out that there’s an easter egg that only appears if you do that. The developers know me too well.
