The Fisher (Martes pennanti))
Despite
their name, the fisher rarely eats fish. They are one of the few
predators able to hunt porcupine. Fishers are in the same family
(Mustelidae) as the American marten we highlighted a few days ago.

I didn’t realize that we had these in my area until my mother saw one. They’re sneaky, secretive little buggers, and apparently kind of belligerent when you do spot them.
OMFG, I didn’t know either!
Yep – apparently they’re native to PA and the Fish and Game Commission thinks that the state probably has thousands of them but no one’s really sure because of the aforementioned sneakiness.
