like idk when the last time I felt this excited about characters was, if I’m being honest

i respond pretty strongly to characters, ok? i always have and i’m pretty confident that i always will, but idk when I actually felt as strongly as I do about the characters in episode vii.

Rey is so small and so determined and so brave. and she doesn’t want to give up her home because even if it’s awful and it’s hard and it’s unfair, it’s *hers*, and someone might be coming back for her and she needs to be there. she has so much hope and so much enthusiasm and excitement and aaaaaaaaaaa i love her so much

and finn, god. he was taken from his home and his family and they tried to turn him into a weapon but he *refused*. he saw what it meant to be a stormtrooper, to be a part of the First Order, and his gentle heart screamed no, and he ran. he didn’t run because he was afraid, he ran because he was *terrified*, terrified of who he’d be the moment violence seemed as natural to him as breathing. and he’s so kind and he’s so considerate and he’s so /good/, and when he wants to run again he doesn’t because he has friends and his good heart won’t let him.

poe is just… I can’t remember a time where a male character was allowed to be that warm and that open and that genuinely excited and overjoyed. he feels like the antithesis of every big strong soldier character we’ve ever had. he’s sweet and he’s trusting and he’s gentle and he’s brave. he’s not a braggart or a super macho kind of guy; he’s tender and he cares about people and he’s fighting for more than himself every time he gets into his x-wing.

GOD I JUST LOVE THEM SO MUCH
