What’s a good place to find and start with protective magic?

I think it’d be good for my anxiety and I wanna try it out.

I’m not sure if I’m the best person to talk to since my protections tend to be a little overly strong (to the point where I once renewed the protections around my house and made a friend uncomfortable the next time she came over because I hadn’t been specific enough in my intent), but I’ve found that it’s best to start off with simple carved or drawn symbol-based protections. My personal favorites involve just visualizing what you want to happen as you make your symbol (I use a pentacle as my symbol and put it on doors, windowsills, other points of entry, but that’s just me. You can use whatever symbol you prefer that stands for protection for you).  I prefer carving, but drawing also works. There are usually resources to be found in the New Age section of any bookstore – try books aimed at younger Pagans in particular, since a lot of us start out as teenagers just trying to protect ourselves against disapproving parents.  Your local New Age shop might also sell premade charms and oils – I know mine does.
