Today’s reminder for being around customer service people:  if you’ve ever felt the urge to talk on your phone and pace back and forth in front of a retail/customer service counter – don’t. That just means that I have to watch you pace back and forth, and even if you don’t need anything, it still takes attention away from the other tasks I need to accomplish because I’m required to jump up and go to the counter whenever someone needs something, so your pacing is like setting off a motion detector every time you pass by it.  Please don’t do this.  It’s distracting, and nobody actually wants to listen to your conversation.
